Frequently asked questions
Does swiping immediately delete a photo?
Swiping left marks a photo for deletion; it does not delete it from your library. Review the Trash, then confirm deletion with iOS. Before deletion, you can return any photo you want to keep.
What does Another Round do?
It lets you swipe through only the photos you kept on the previous round. You can narrow down your choices at your own pace.
Can I choose a date range?
Choose a Period lets you select All Dates or Custom Dates. Both the start and end dates are included. With Custom Dates, choose By Scene or All Photos in This Period. All Photos reviews the selected period as one group, including screenshots and excluding videos. Each period and mode keeps its own unfinished round and deletion candidates. Switching them does not delete photos.
What happens if I close the app during a round?
When you return, choose Resume or Start Over. There is no Pause button. You can also skip the current group.
What happens after I delete photos?
Review the Next Photos opens a review screen for the remaining photos in the same period and category. Swiping does not begin automatically; you can review the group before starting. If none remain, you can choose another period or category. Delete Later keeps your deletion candidates and returns you to the remaining group when one is available.
Why are no photos showing?
Check Oni Swipe’s photo access in iPhone Settings. If you allow access to selected photos only, the app can work with only those photos. You can select additional photos or change access as needed. With All Dates selected, Memories shows groups containing at least four eligible photos. Custom Dates also includes smaller groups. Photos without a date taken are excluded from custom periods. If an image cannot load, check your connection and photo access, then tap Retry. You can choose what to keep only after the photo appears.
Why hasn’t available space increased after deletion?
Deleted photos normally remain in Recently Deleted in Photos for 30 days. Available space may take time to change. The completion screen shows the number of photos successfully deleted. It does not display device available space or gigabytes freed by photo deletion. Photos permanently deleted in Photos cannot be recovered.
Are iCloud photos also deleted?
If you use iCloud Photos, deletion also applies to iCloud and other devices syncing with the same Apple Account. Oni Swipe does not back up photos or move them to external storage.
Are there ads or monthly fees?
Oni Swipe is a one-time purchase, with no ads or subscriptions. Check the App Store for the purchase price.
